We were invited come along to the Alihankinta trade fair in Tampere with TUAS to gain an insight into engineering in Finland. The trade fair is held every year and showcases around 1000 engineering subcontractors. There were many, many different stalls exhibiting new technologies and innovations.

We particularly enjoyed getting to see the many robotics stalls as we have never seen this exciting new technology in person. There were lots of demonstrations of these robotic arms carrying out different tasks which we found impressive. Additionally, there were lots of stalls demonstrating cutting edge manufacturing techniques which we enjoyed learning about.

Valmet, the company which Team Posankka are working with, had a stand exhibiting their Scouter which is a light electric vehicle that the company has been working on. We also got to see the TUAS rally car which is related to Team Ladata's project. It was interesting for our team to find out about what the two other teams projects entail.

At the end of they day, with our bags full of freebies (namely reflectors, fazer chocolates and random 3D printed objects) we felt that we had a great day and we learned a lot about the engineering industry in Finland.
